On May 25th, the city of Kansas City, Kansas
will play host to the twenty-second Titan Fighting Championships. The main
event that night will be Rumble vs. Branch. In this case, “Rumble” is the
nickname of Anthony Johnson, a 6’2’’, 170 lb. star of the mixed martial arts.
His opponent, Dave Branch, is an inch shorter than Johnson, but weighs a full
two hundred pounds. Both of these fighters have impressive records. Johnson,
28, is based out of Los Angeles, CA, and Branch, 30, is based out of New York.
The event will be held at Memorial Hall, and it will be broadcast live on
HDNet, which is about to change its name to AXS TV.
Next down on the card is a match between LC Davis and
Bill Kamery. Weighing in at 160 and 134 lbs. respectively, each of them is an
accomplished veteran of MMA. Davis, 31, will be fighting just across the state
line from where he was born in Kansas City, MO. An interesting fact about
Kamery, his opponent, is that he has only lost two of his twelve professional
fights. Andrew Whitney and Jose Vega will also have a bout that night. They
have the same weight, and there is only one inch of height difference between
them. Vega has been in six more fights than Whitney, but has lost five.
Fabio Mello vs. Nick Mamalis is another fight on the card
for this event. This may be the most evenly matched bought on the card. They
weigh roughly the same amount, they’re about the same height, and they have
very similar records. It will be very interesting to find out who wins. It will
be interesting to find out who wins all the other bouts, too, including the
ones between Bears and Nolte, Bektic and Mack, and Cardello and Morgan.
