MMA fans across the country will be able to enjoy the
action from Fairfax, Virginia’s Patriot Center on May 15th as
Chan-Sung Jung, aka “The Korean Zombie,” takes on Dustin Poirier at Fuel TV 3.
The rest of the fight card also promises plenty of hard hitting competition.
Jung is from Po-Hang, South Korea, and he packs plenty of punching power. Not
only is he a very aggressive fighter, his jaw seems to be made of steel, which
makes him even harder to beat. One of the most popular fighters in the sport,
Jung actually holds a college degree in Mixed Martial Arts.
His opponent, Dustin Poirier, is also known as “The
Diamond.” Poirier’s approach to fighting is well rounded, seamlessly
incorporating all the verbal, mental, and physical aspects of MMA. Hailing from
Lafayette, Louisiana, he weighs in at 145 pounds. So far, he’s racked up ten
wins: five by knockout, and five by submission. He’s certainly come a long way
from his days collecting aluminum cans and picking pecans! Also on the card for
the night are such exciting matchups as Camus vs. Soto, Prater vs. Grant, and
Jonny Eduardo vs. “The Big Frog” (Jeff Curran). If you can’t be in Fairfax that
night, you should be somewhere that you can watch it.
No matter where you are, there are few ways you will be
able to enjoy this event. If your cable or satellite provider carries Fuel TV,
you’ll be able to see it live on that channel at 8 pm EST. If you don’t have
Fuel TV, you should still be able to order the event on pay per view. You might
even be able to find a bar in your city that has already ordered the event. In
that case, minimums and covers are the only costs you’ll incur.
