Griggs Entertainment will be presenting the “Conflict In
Clinton” on May 26th. The main event in Clinton that night will be
Cory Moon vs. Steve Campbell. Moon has a better average, but fewer fights. Both
fighters are based out of Illinois. Tony Ledbetter and Matt Cooper will also be
fighting, which might be the most interesting fight on the card. The reason for
this is that Matt Cooper is still looking for his first professional win after
two losses. The other fight will be between Andrew Clay and Blayze Rodgers.
Clay is looking for his first pro win, too, and Rodgers is, as yet, undefeated.
All Griggs Entertainment events, including Conflict in
Clinton, are official events. This means two things. First, it means that
they’re supervised by an athletic commission. In this case, that’s the Indiana
Gaming Commission. Second, it means that results are reported to MMA.TV. That
way, every fighter gets credit for every win. Speaking of the Indiana Gaming
Commission, like other state boxing regulatory agencies, they serve the purpose
of enforcing certain safety rules. Those rules have been amended since the
earliest days of mixed martial arts fighting in the United States, but most
fans agree that their observance has helped the sport increase its mainstream
popularity.
The Conflict in Clinton is yet another chapter in the
continuing fulfillment of the vision which originally led Josh and Tim Griggs
to found Griggs Entertainment last year. With this event and others like it,
they’re looking to become the premier company for the promotion of MMA events
throughout the Midwest. If the events they’ve promoted so far are any
indication, they’re off to a great start. What’s more, the Conflict in Clinton
itself looks to transcend all of them in terms of hard hitting, unforgettable
action. Midwest MMA fans have a lot to look forward to from this team.
